What is SSD?
SSD,
also called a
flash drive
is a type of computer storage that has been newly embraced by the industry
alternative to traditional Hard Drives. It has been known as Solid State Drive.
SSD is smaller than hard drive. The main
different between Hard drive and SSD is, the drive has no moving parts to malfunction, and
more advantages such as accessing
stored information faster, does not generate significant heat, produces no noise,
often more reliable, and consume much less power than the traditional hard
drive (HDD) found in computers and all the storage on a solid state drive is
handled by flash memory chips. . It is also lighter than a standard drive. , Finally, the SSD is more
durable. If dropped or banged it isn't as likely to be damaged. But the cost of
this drive is higher than the normal price. Less space for more money
(less than 100GB costs over $100 in SDD, while 1 TB of regular HDD is $90 as of today)
